How To Pick garlic heads
How to pick garlic.
This is something I learned recently — no one said anything or suggested anything or tipped me off. One day I just realized. I love it when learning happens naturally, I just wish it didn't take 20 years.
It's quite simple.
Here is the rule to follow when picking garlic heads:
1. Look at color: the skin/paper should be white with no black spots.
2. Look at the quality of the skin/paper: It should be shiny and tight. For tightness I looked around the neck of the garlic head (opposite the root end) and make sure the skin/paper isn't too loose.
3. Look at texture: No shriveled or soft looking cloves.
