The Ultimate Garlic Press for Garlic Lovers
If there's one thing I've learned in my years in the kitchen it is that simple is best, not only for food but for kitchen tools too.
I've had the garlic press pictured above for over thirteen years! It's a rather simple garlic press made of all metal and has made it loads easier to incorporate garlic flavor into everything I cook. When you use as much garlic as I do, chopping and mincing them can be time-consuming pain, at this point the garlic press has probably saved me hours in the kitchen.
I have toyed with the idea of replacing it, usually when I'm moseying around Sur La Table or some other kitchen store, and there usually will be a garlic press out of some sort, sometimes even with garlic to try it on. But, every single time I've found that they are either 1. Too fancy or have rubber on them (rubber which I hate because it's hard to clean around and usually begins to form mold around). Or, 2. Are not easy to use (as in, it takes too much effort and energy to actually squish the garlic with).
While I got my garlic press many many years ago and honestly have no idea where I bought it from, there are plenty similar to it in stores. Things to look out for when shopping for one: Made of metal (so it can withstand time), and simple design (also, so it can withstand time).
You're welcome.
