RESTAURANT REVIEW: Blu Jam Cafe's Granola

⭐⭐⭐⭐

This morning, I found myself sitting at Blu Jam Cafe on Melrose alone — it wasn't at all a sad situation, I was actually looking forward to some time away from everyone, this doesn't happen too often. The first thing to do with time to myself is go out and eat, breakfast, in this case. To have a really great bowl of granola- this has been my craving for the past week and I had yet to fulfill it, so this morning was the day it was going to happen! I hadn't had granola at Blu Jam Cafe before but I have seen it ordered a couple of times by other patrons sitting nearby — it always looked alluring, whole-hardy, satisfying, interesting... and delicious. Delicious granola? Is there such a thing? I mean, granola can be good but I don't think I've ever had granola and described it as delicious before.

I ate the whole thing!

The House Made Vegan Organic Granola consisted of a large bowl of oven baked oats, steel cut oats, bran oats, shaved coconut, shaved almonds, raisins, dried cranberries, flax seeds and maple syrup to sweeten it all up (but it wasn't overly sweet mind you... it was perfectly sweet). There was a choice of milk, soy milk, almond milk, and vanilla yogurt. I opted for almond milk. The granola was absolutely beautiful with little white strips of shaved coconut, ruby reds of dried cranberries, and deep purples of raisins that speckled the golden brown oats. The fresh almond milk with all the different flavors was perfectly matched for each other and resulted in a hardy and delicious granola breakfast that was neither too sweet nor too bland, and which also had a perfect crunch to it.

Delicious!
