Wednesday late morning Brother Charlie and I found ourselves at the Farmer's Market on 3rd and Fairfax, walking our way through the Farmer's Market for breakfast at Dupar's our sleepy eyes and hungry tummies were taken by a small counter serving breakfast, it looked 'nothing fancy', it looked 'plain breakfast' and these two ideas struck a cord with us this day.
We looked at the menu, at all the usual breakfast items and decided to sit down, we liked the idea of sitting outside for a plain, nothing fancy breakfast.
I ordered two eggs over medium with bacon, this came with hashbrowns and toast.
Brother Charlies ordered two eggs sunny side up with sausages, this came with hashbrowns and toast.
The food was indeed nothing special but it was great all the same because that's exactly what we wanted, a very casual, nothing fancy breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the sunny side up was not at all overcooked, and the over medium eggs were runny all the way through inside. The toast was toast, the hashbrowns crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the bacon and sausages were bacon and sausages. On such a day when nothing exciting or new was wanted this counter called Phil's Deli really hit the spot.
The only complaint? No coffee, not even plain black was available, luckily right behind us was the Coffee Corner which serves great mocha.
